Two Good Fiddles for sale

Two Good Fiddles for sale

Hi
Some of you know me through sessions and festivals around Ontario. Ive recently managed to scrape together the resources to buy a fiddle that is perfect for my playing. As a result, I have two nice fiddles to sell.

Fiddle 1: A nice Czech Amati copy from the 1920's roughly (based on some clues on the label). I rescued it from a music shop and put alot of time and money restoring it to excellent condition. The tone is very rich in the higher range, and the workmanship is better than any Czech fiddle I've seen. It projects very well in a session. I had it appraised recently for between $1000-1500. I will sell it for $800. It would be a "better" beginners fiddle. It is red with a one-piece back.

Fiddle 2: A good French workshop fiddle imported to the U.K. by Beare and Sons. It is likely from the early 1900's and is goldish coloured. The tone of this instrument is superb, and it was my main fiddle for many gigs and sessions over the years. It has a nice earthy fiddleish tone and plays very nicely. Im sad to have to sell it, but I can't afford to have 3 fiddles. This one was appraised for between $2500-3000. I'll sell it for $2000.

Prices are all Canadian. I live in Hamilton, but I visit Toronto often. My friend is in Detroit every few weeks, so he could maybe bring one out that way for someone to try.
I will be at the East Coast Tionol, so if anyone wants to check one of them out, let me know and I'll bring them down. I have a few spare bows and cases which I can include to sweeten the deal.

Cheers
Brandon
