As the title says. I mean are there young "Tradders" out there who see this site as old boring talk or am i to be surprised as to find that the young find this site educational? By the way i'm only 32
oh, personally i wouldnt take anything from this site, probably due to my musical and family background, i wouldn't take this site too seriously. but i do like the occassional visit to wind up the people who do. lol. no offence guys!
Ha one thing i can say about this site is it does have a feel good factor. I do love the jokes, sarcy' comments and all, keep it rolling guys and girls.
There are plenty of younguns on this site (I mean, other than the wind-er-uppers... Not everybody has your background, experience, or immersion in the music, Ruairi... )
I think it attracts because it is a decent repository for tunes, and at least some of the time, a good place for people to pass on some things that they've learned with regards to playing this music...
Very euphemistic Reverend. Most people would have told Ruairi that no-one likes a smart ar#e, but maybe that is just a well used saying in my part of the world.
There are a number of very young people on this site, who may or may not learn something from it.
It would be appalling if the earnest young things who check out this site were to look up to us deadbeats as mature role models and want to be like us in any way.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, it's also a great place to meet other players, which can come in handy when traveling around... That's probably the biggest attraction for me...
im 21.. its a good laugh around here. there are certain opinionated people who seem not to know when to keep their ideas to themselves though (naming no names) ha ha ha... for sure ive seen some hilarious and some interesting and worthwhile topics being discussed (and grumbled about in certain cases) so i guess thats positive?
I'm 21 and have been visiting this site since about the age of 15 or 16. I'm not here constantly but check out what's going on on a regular basis. I have learned a lot from those "certain opinionated people" even if I don't agree with them all the time, (I happen to fit that class too!), and find the posts to be encouraging, informative, interesting and yes, sometimes irritating! Us young bucks need reminded that we don't know everything although sometimes I wish this was done in a little more friendly manner, keep it up.
Anthonybeers, thats young. I'm 27 and last saturday I bought myself one of those planes where you wind up the propellor with an elastic band...wait that just prooves I'm immature doen't it.
Oh well.
54 ~ In arabic numerals.
Today is unusual. So far I have read about the last bastion for good English, Latin etymology, & Roman numerals.
Where else can you find such eclectic discussions?
Let's not forget the windups . . .
"i do like the occassional visit."
& so do we fiddleruairi! Say "Hi!" to the family.
No offense.
Well.... I'm now in my second childhood, so I still class myself as a young gun. Mind you, I'm talking Lee Enfield 303 Mk 1 here...... I find that Irish trad music keeps me .....keeps me.......Christ I've forgotten what it keeps me....Nurse!!!!!!
SWFL Fiddler, instead of a traditional musician, you could be a used-car salesman and/or a politician who is so crazy that you think you want to be President.
Although I am 49 and have been playing music for approximately forty-something years now, I have learned that I will never know everything there is to know about music. There will always be something new to learn about music no matter how many more years of my life I continue playing music.
In order to president, the new job description requires you to hunt moose, dress it and properly prepare it.
None of this woossy foreign policy stuff or economic mumbo-jumbo.
On the other hand I think the presidential job descritpion is also a line about being successful at used car sales, or snake oil sales being a desirable job skill.
Zippydw, would that be Chocolate Mousse like the Swedish Chef on the Muppet Show tried to cook?
If I remember correctly, neither Barack Obama or Joe Biden or John McCain or Sarah Palin has ever tried to make a living by selling cars or snake oil or anything else--unless there is some information about one of these four which no one has found yet. By November fourth of this year, I am sure that we will all know more than we want to about all four of these people.

I'm a different age every day depending on how much Doom Bar I've supped the night before. But my average age is 57. My ITM age is 15.
