"memetically (mimetically) transmitted" ~ where would tradition be if we started wearing propylactics over our heads, and thick enough to prevent sound and transluscent to the point that everything looked like a shadow, only a hint of what it might be?
Nah, I don't think it will work for us fashion conscious lot... Can you imagine that, and wearing a flat cap. Besides, they don't make them big enough for my fat head...
Yes, Reverend, I agree, "witty banjo jokes" is an oxymoron.
Nor am I "cowed" by Ceolachan's response (Moooo!) which was an udderly silly attempt to "milk" this idea.
This doesn't work! I fed in some work emails and it says they're not stupid and I know they are! This works though: http://www.rinkworks.com/dialect/ Try converting some of the longer posts on this site into jive or redneck (whiles away the morning)
Spot banjo, accordion and bodhran jokes. Then if the cache them properly, we can forward them to the web guys at the Republican National Committee and swamp there server to stop the flood of garbage about Sarah.
Sorry. Totally an inside the US reference, but you overseas folks will need to worry if she gets elected and we start doing preemptive strikes on Scotland, Denmark and Belgium!
No, Pete, Jeremy is just a civility filter. It would be a full-time job (and then some) if he had to try to spot bad spelling, grammar, and general stupidity!
Sigh - I have bad grammar, spelling and general stupidity - did not know that it was a requirment for this site not to....big sigh - guess musically you have to ask yourself 'can I spell'? I mean seriously - dont worry about the fact I cant play and cant hold a tune..because that doesnt matter - what matters is my grammar sucks. I will be sure to mention this new turn of events to the session wreckers next time I meet them. 'No seriously - keep bashing out of time on your bodhran...what I really need to know is....can you spell?' Holy Moley
I heard palin was against sex-ed. She obiously didnt teach it at home - you know - her knocked up teenage daughter and all. Hilarous - scary thing is she is such a nutter they are bound to get voted in.
Beebs, right now we're seeing headlines in the US proclaiming Palin as "Queen of the Nobodies" *and* aslo leading in approval ratings over both Obama and McCain.
Typical of our "American Idol" election process. She was unknown to most people two weeks ago, and today she's more popular than the two presidential candidates.
I cant spell though -and use shocking grammar...much to the horror of my mother who is a writer and poet Oh well!
Will - yup - have seen the whole Palin thing unfold from here...especially loved the part where she posed in an American flag bikini with a gun....very classy......
"BB" your spelling and your grammar is better than my wife's. It is not my wife's fault if the sorry excuse for a public school system here failed to teach her properly. She did much better during the one year her parents could afford to send her to a private school.
My spelling is really bad- but to be honest if I was handing in something for Uni I'd put in a little more effort, I'm very lazy on this site. I think I'm better off putting effort into tunes to be honest.

Only if they're dumb banjo jokes! The witty ones will pass muster, I'm sure.

Re: Stupid Filter
Rev, what I want to know is how you stumbled on the Stupid Filter.

Were you looking for such a tool (and why--inquiring minds want to know)? Or did one of your posts get entangled in its mesh?

Re: Stupid Filter
Actually, it appeared in Zina's blog, so you'll have to ask her how she ran across it

And SWFL, isn't that an oxymoron?

Is that polypropylactics?
"Can you imagine that, and wearing a flat cap."
It sounds like a possible solution to the problem of flat caps blowing away - for those that don't have enough hair for velcro to stick to.

Re: Stupid Filter
Come now, hasn't anyone made a witty banjo joke since I last checked this thread? No? Slackers!

Did you hear the one about the ox and the moron?
...and the priest says, if I had a prophylactic that big, I wouldn't need this meme helmet!
Actually, is there a filter to help one sort out punchlines? I seem to have them scrambled.
