Scottish Traditiona Music Graded Exams - Fiddle grades 1 & 2

Scottish Traditiona Music Graded Exams - Fiddle grades 1 & 2

Decided to opt to take the plunge and put myself through these as it'll give me some structure in my learning with limited access to a qualified tutor.

Has anyone done these ?

Anyone recommend any theory study books aimed at traditional scottish fiddle playing ?

I haven't done one personally but I have a couple of leaflets somewhere about them. I'm guessing you'll have them though? If not I'll write a couple of the more informative paragraphs out for you!

Am I right in thinking that these are run by the RSAMD? If so they would be willing to give you some extra information I would have thought.

Yep these are the RSAMD exams. I have purchased the various breakdowns of the exams so that I know what im aiming for in performance & understanding.

Was just wondering if there is any good reading out there in general to help with theory etc, all the ones I can find are aimed at classical playing.
