Well, i went to see Liz and Yvonne Kane on Saturday in Fairfield Connecticut. It was a small crowd but none-the-less, it was a great concert. The jokes Liz, told and their traditional East Galway style, made the night completely worthwile. They are so in love with the music, you could just tell, by the way they smiled at each other and played so enthusiastically. Plus, they were joined by Canadian dancer Nathan Pilasky. It was simply phenonmanal.
They are so awesome! They're both great teachers too. I was in Liz's fiddle class at Augusta this summer and Yvonne's last summer. They are so nice and their accents are just great.
If Nathan is a fiddler, I have yet to see him play it and I don't think he is that shy. Actually it is his brother Jon who is a pretty hot fiddler from the Ottawa Valley and who now plays regularly with the Chieftains where he and his brother Nathan also dance regularly along with Cara Butler.
But Jim Feeney is right that it was a great intimate concert with the Kane Sisters where you could appreciate the great interplay between their fiddles and themselves as they played.
They are on route to the Milwaukee Irish Fest this coming weekend.

In case anybody wants to look him up, try "Pilatzke". Great Ottawa Valley dancer.

That would have been a great concert! Wish we had that kind of thing in Aus.
Oh... and Nathan is not just a fine dancer... but a great fiddle player as well.
