What Aussie tune players have to go through to get to sessions - let alone festivals. And you think you have it tough because you can't get broadband in Clare!
There haven't been pre-session goings-on of that nature, in these parts, for some months now. There are still a few men in the area who play their music as if the sheriff was after them. It's all in their minds.
ok - its not that they are a sh*te fiddle player, they are actually a good fiddle player in the general sense...but its pretty obvious that they dont actually play trad irish..Dont you think? Do you really need more than that 4 bars to see that?
I would say the fiddlist has played trad by the general feel, but more of a trad showbiz style thats loud and strong rather than subtle and ornamented. I kind of like it.
hmmm, I disagree - I would say just from that snippet that they have played everything from jazz, to australian to scottish...they do not sound like they have listened and played trad irish seriously.
No I do still like it even if it stinks.( chuckle) I know that it doesn't sound like nuanced ? Irish fiddle. Probably be the sort of fiddling that would lend itself to a loud band, and I don't mean that in a negative way, I'm looking at it from the angle of imagining that that type of loud , uncomplicated style is often very suitable in a group., to get the message across. I often listen to different players in that way. Would that sound be useful in some context other than being beutiful , or moving ,
or stylistically appropriate. Sounds like I've got too much time on my hands eh?
Just a thought - You could always try asking elastoman25 who claims to be Ned Kelly's cousin. He might k-gno. Don't know that its either Rights of Man or King of the Fairies. I thought the playing had shades of Pink Panther a tad. Wonder who the fiddler is? Do you know Cruella? Did he/she get PAID for that little clip.
Have you got something to do with Nurefin, Dubh? Just got a bit of free advertising here. Many's the bod who takes that stuff on a reg basis just in case of a headache that might need forstallin' in the unforseeable future.

Duijera Dubh, your architecture looks to be a bit more substantial than ours. Your interiors, are more sumptuous. Your lawmen look a tad overdressed.

Re: Life on the ITM edge
Who is it Cruella? Who is this person who can demonstrate their sh*tedness wihin a mere four bars of music.

Could the tune be "The Pride Of Petrovar"? Isn't that a Canadian song?
