Dave Munnelly

Dave Munnelly

So I have Dave Munnelly's CD, 'Live' and it has a set on it called 'Connemara'. It doesn't give the names for the three tunes... so does anyone know them? They're fairly incredible tunes.

Re: Dave Munnelly

There's a very short download for 'Connemara' on his web site and I managed to recognize The Lilting Banshee (jig) during the first ten seconds. Any votes for the reel that follows?

Re: Dave Munnelly

Zazz,

The first jig is the Black Rogue (many old Riley hands call it Paddy MacNicholas) then the Lilting Banshee.

The reel sounds familiar, but it just may be that it has several bits that are like other tunes.

If anything comes to mind, I'll let you know. I knew letting you have Munnelly CDs was dangerous!

Dinn2,

The New Mown Meadow! Thanks-That's why it sounds familiar.

How much coffee do you need to get through lessons with him??? An amazing player, indeed.
