Re: Everything you ever needed to know about music.
Spooky - I thought for some time into the vid that it was a *real* schools programme! I wonder when it was made: the accents, haircuts and grubby colours made me think circa 1970. If it is a retro piece made more recently, it's a horrifically plausible reconstruction.
Re: Everything you ever needed to know about music.
They did a hell of a job getting the late 70s/early 80s feel.
The opening music sounds amazingly authentic. It sounds like they used real vintage analog synthesizers, complete with unstable tuning...though they may have been clever enough to detune on purpose. And the "Harrington 1200" is made of real vintage analog synth modules (which are probably really worth about 1,000 pounds these days).
Compare to a real educational show from this period:
Everything you ever needed to know about music.
Everything you ever needed to know about music.

Re: Everything you ever needed to know about music.
I presume it'll be a slow air in S mixeduplocrian, but you'll submit it here as an E minor polka since those are the best available options.

Re: Everything you ever needed to know about music.
Can anyone identify the "Harrington 1200"? Is it a Putney?
Finally I've got a nickname for my guitar: the "Boite Diabolique"

Thanks for the info and the link, Screetch. Neat site. I've never seen most of those up close & personal.

Think this is where J.J Abrams got the idea for the Dharma Initiative instructional films in "Lost".
