flute workshops / lessons

Hi there.
I'm interested in attending flute workshops (or even having private lessons) around Noth Cork area next July/August.

Does anyone know about any workshops being held by then, or any teachers willing to show me some skills??
I'm fed up with my slow progression and I feel I need some help.

Re: flute workshops / lessons

Doesn't Hammy Hamilton live in Macroom, Cork? Maybe you could try and contact him about private lessons. If he's not into lessons or too busy, he might be able to recommend some other flute tutors...

I think Conal O'Grada is also in Cork....

Re: flute workshops / lessons

Just a word about lessons... almost completely off topic.

They are great.

In the last year I have had lessons from John Skelton, Jack Gilder, Grey Larsen, a local Jazz flute player, and a local wizz kid named Nick Buckmelter. I resisted taking lessons for years, now I am addicted. These people have all just been fantastic teachers. And they are all so very different! Any one of them will tell you a completely different way of playing, but they all sound great.

I hope you get your lessons 8-)

Yes, I'm a big believer in private lessons. Get as many as you possibly can. You ALWAYS learn something.
