Ronan Burke played a great set of polkas played during his show on 13/3/08 on Clare FM. It was about 25 minutes in. Does anyone know the name of the musicians?
Ronan is a joy to listen to - even when I can't understand a word of what he's saying!
Sounds to me like its Seamus Begley on the box and Steve Cooney on guitar, so probably off Ragairne or Meiteal (I don't have either CD to confirm, sorry).

I don't have time right now to listen in but it's still on the Clare FM archives.

I love his accent - especially when he says Saherday

Yeah, gotta be Seamus and Steve. Definitely not on the Meiteal album though.
