I am getting married in Stockholm in the summer. Does anyone know of a band(s) who can play Swedish wedding music and also manage the Walls of Limerick and the Siege of Ennis? Tall order I know but at least I've got the girl right!
There are no more sessions at Sheehan's. Don't even know if the pub is open anymore.
Anyhow, the session has been moved to O'Connells pub at Stora Nygatan in Gamla stan (Old town) every sunday at odd weeknumbers.

What´s your definition of "Swedish wedding music"?
If what you want is irish folk music in combination with either swedish folk music or rock then there´s Jørgen in Calmar who organizes the annual irish festival in sweden and who may be of help with his contacts in Sweden.
I live in the Stockholm Area, but mainly play Irish Trad. I may be able to guide to the right musicians if you give me some more information about what you want. You can contact me via my profile.

Jorgen Astner not only organizes a lot of Irish music events in the Kalmar area, but he and his wife, fiddler Lotta Hakansson, play Irish and Swedish trad music to the highest level. Contact them and you have the best of both at your wedding and a great session afterwards. I have known them for almost 30 years and they are two of the best musicians I ever played with.
Thank you to everyone for all your help. There is definitely some great info there and some good leads. There will be about five or six musicians in the wedding party anyway so there'll definitely be a session no matter what wedding band we get. We want a band that can do the standard Swedish wedding music (whatever that is) and also do a couple of sets. The post-band ITM session, we'll look after ourselves.
Thanks again!

Ashplant, Denmark - might be worth a try. I don't know how they'd be with the Swedish wedding music - you can but ask them.
Good luck.
