I've posted some much higher resolution versions of three of the SCUPC Tionol concert videos on vimeo.com, a new free hosting site that supports high-resolution content using the new features of Adobe Flash 9. The site is sponsored by Canon, which works out well for everyone, they want to sell more high-def cameras, people with new high-def cameras want to have somewhere to post their high-def content to share with friends and family.
After you click the links below, hover over the video window to bring up the player controls, click on "Full" to go full screen. While in full screen mode, click on "Scaling On" in the lower right to toggle between the native 1280x720 resolution and completely filling your display.
Ben Power and Benedict Koehler playing "The Banks of Lough Gowna", "The Coolea (Cuil Aodha) Jig", and "Humours of Ballyloughlin": http://www.vimeo.com/393284
The quality is much better than YouTube and, unlike YouTube, you can download the videos. Unfortunately, they are still doing some recompression of the audio so there are some fairly distracting audio compression artifacts but the end result is still much better than YouTube.
You can also create your own channels on Vimeo, you can find all my high-def videos (including all the above) on one page here: http://www.vimeo.com/tradlessons
I enjoyed the 3D one - my daughters are watching "Barbie and the Nutcracker" which happens to have the correct 3D glasses. A lot of fun seeing someone playing the pipes in 3D. I'm waiting for the full IMAX, motion simulation version now - maybe you can think you're really there, having someone kicking the back of your chair or whatever!
The HD versions aren't really HD, of course - they're good but please don't anyone think that this is all that HD is capable of!!
That gripe aside, thanks for letting us know about this.
The HD clips are 1280x720p30 h.264, heck of a lot better than the 320x240 stuff being served up by YouTube. I'm amazed they can provide this service for free!
I'm glad you enjoyed the 3D clips, I may have to do more of those. They were done using two small Casio Exilim cameras side by side on a mount:
Hi - I was wondering how you did the 3D stuff - amazing. I really enjoyed those. Totally agree the HD clips are a lot better than YouTube, which is pretty horrible quality.

The camera takes 640x480 MPEG-4 clips at 30 fps, then I use some freeware stereo video software to composite the videos.
