Does anyone know where I can find audio files to download of ITM songs? There are so many songs I'd like to learn, without the expense of buying a different CD for each song. I don't have a problem paying a nominal fee, of course, as long as it's not more than the cost of the individual CDs for oh,say, a dozen songs. Please note, I say "songs" meaning to include both instrumental and vocal selections.
If you want tunes, try http://www.slowplayers.org/SCTLS, and check under the playlist. We keep saying we're going to add more. at some point, maybe we actually will.
You will also find some mp3s of celtic music at http://www.celticmp3s.com
Obviously not all of the tunes are performed in the purest tradition, but I managed to download over a whole CD worth of stuff (converted to .wav) for free, and it's a pretty good listen.

I just checked out your site! I think it's brilliant. Ketida, I'm sure you'll find plenty there to keep you busy. Where do you live? If postage isn't too steep I'm happy to burn you a few CDs and send them to you as well. (Not that I've got that big a collection, but that is how my fiddling friend and I got started, listening and trying to copy tunes and songs by ear)
There are plenty of field recordings of Irish Traditional Music here: http://www.rte.ie/radio/ceolnet/ in streaming format. If you use some sound capture software you can record them as mp3's on your computer.
