Re: Trotters? Humor/Question...

Trotters are people who play reels at less than 140 bpm. Canterers play at 140-174 and gallopers at 175+. Walkers are potato crisps.

Re: Trotters? Humor/Question...

Reels at 175+ bpm? Really? Are you counting two beats per measure or four?

Re: Trotters? Humor/Question...

Dunno, I just plucked the numbers out of thin air.

Re: Trotters? Humor/Question...

...I'm counting 4 beats per measure.

Actually, those figures are a bit on the slow side. Trotters would more likely be below 176bpm, canterers, 176-208 and gallopers, 208+ . If you prefer counting two beats per measure, that translates roughly to: <88, 88-104, >104.

Anyway, that's one definition. Another kind of Trotter is a short Cockney wideboy with a tall, lanky brother.

Re: Trotters? Humor/Question...

Ugh. Here in the South (US) it's not unusual to see a huge jar of pig feet swimming in reddish vinegar at food stands. Apparently some people actually buy them and eat them. I would not want to witness that consumption.

Re: Trotters? Humor/Question...

Are those swimming pig feet attached to the pigs at the time?

Re: Trotters? Humor/Question...

No...that would require a pretty big jar...

The rest of the pig carcasses have already gone to bacon, ham, pork rinds, pickled snouts and tails, hog head cheese, etc.

No part of a hog goes to waste.

And: Souse Loaf

The only part of the pig they don't use is the squeal.
