Clare FM Kitchen Sessions

Clare FM Kitchen Sessions

Anybody listening to the Kitchen Session broadcasts on Clare FM? The first two (2 hours each) are available for listening online or downloading (left click/control click depending on platform) at http://clarefm.ie . Live music, songs, dancing, and short interviews from private homes around Clare.

I'm listening to the first one (Cooraclare) for the third time now. Brilliant entertainment and plenty of interesting history and background.

Re: Clare FM Kitchen Sessions

Yes, besides all the other great musicians, the Kitchen Session show thus far has been a cornucopia of fantastic concertina playing by Tom and Rory McMahon, Caroline Tubridy, Patsy Lewis, Dympna O'Sullivan, Edel Fox, and Lorraine O'Brien. A great series.

Re: Clare FM Kitchen Sessions

I subscribe to them and listen to all the shows on my IPOD. Great stuff, and it reminds me of my time there. There's also a great show recorded here in St Louis. It happens live at 8am on Monday mornings central time, but it's recently available via archives for two weeks.

Bernie McDonald puts on a great show. I think even the folks on the Emeral Isle would love it.

Enjoy...

Re: Clare FM Kitchen Sessions

Love this format- Paula does a great job letting the people speak, not to mention the cracking playing, though it comes as a bit of a surprise to hear that they have a shortage of fiddle players. How did that come about?
