I bought a poster from Ossian at their store in Cork when I was there in 2003. I finally got the thing framed. The image is from the 1981 Fleadh in Listowel and as a central figure , Joe Burke
( I believe-he's in his "hairy stage") is front and center, with a fiddle and piper to his left, flute player to the right. Can anyone figure out who the fiddle player, flute player and piper are?? They are playing in a pub, with the usual cast of suspects around the musicians.
The photo was taken by Jill Freedmann and is in her book 'A time that was' and probably on her website as well. Can't exactly recall the faces but the fiddler is Charlie Lennon and singer Paddy Tunney was standing behind Burke.
My partner (who is Paddy Tunneys niece) vouches for her uncle, the finest singer of his generation, or indeed, any generation. Listen to the album "The Irish Edge" . The fiddler is Charlie Lennon. The rest we are unsure, but got our thinking caps on.

Re: Poster
The flute player is Seamus MacMahuna and the piper looks as if it could be Liam Og O´Flynn.

Re: Poster
Paddy was a great singer indeed- I got to hear him in Letterkenny back in '86. Wonderful, powerful singer.
