I'm planning on taking an extended trip to one of the Baltic countries (Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania).
Does anyone know if any of these countries have a trad community? pubs, good musos, regular sessions etc. also friendly people?
I can trade info. about the balkans or Spain.
Maybe there could be a facility here for putting travelling musicians in contact ... any business trip or a weekend away could be enhanced by being brought down to the local session.
Don't know about the trad scene but I used to have a colleague from Latvia who went back home when the Baltic States went independant (again). Before he left I took him to a Ceilidh and he took me to a Latvian Music festival. Latvians have an impressive enthusiasm for music. There will be something going on, I'd bet. I doubt you would need to look far.
