hiya,i have heard this wonderful tune on the concert and i would like to play it on my whistle, but im not lucky at all in searching on the internet for music sheet.dont you know, please, anybody, where should i have a look?the author is Pierre Bensusan.thank you very much.
I've made this very, very clear on the "submit a discussion" page where it says:
"If you are looking for a tune, please look in the Tunes section first. Please keep tune requests to an absolute minimum - they generally don't make for very interesting discussions. If you do request a tune and somebody subsequently posts it to the Tunes section, please take the time to add a few words of thanks."
Now, would it have killed you to, luska, to have actually done that?
Leave Jeremy be. You have no idea how many things he deals with here on this free (to you, but not to him) site, and the massive headaches he has to endure for his charity. Luska, don't worry about it, we've all made mistakes along those lines, just please do a search first before posting in the discussions.
You seem confused Domhniaill. Is something not clear to you?
I wasn't bickering. I was, however, understandably peeved that someone had started a discussion without first reading the guidelines that appear on the "submit a discussion" page.
Normally, if there was inappropriate discussion started, I would just delete it and send an email to the person who submitted it. But this one was so ridiculous I just had to say something in public, as it were.
im very sorry for i started discussion about a tune without checking searching section of this web site.english language still isnt my strong site, but im doing my best and i promise, next time i will be more careful and i will try not to over look informations. i feel really embarassed and low and once more im really sorry.SORRY JEREMY!!! and for everybody else (who i like thank you very much for help
Luska: don't worry about it - it was an overreaction.
Domhniaill: you'll see now that I wasn't protesting because I "think it's cool to bicker". Sometimes when you post on the internet it pays to put yourself in the receiver's shoes. Otherwise people's feelings get hurt and it creates a bad atmosphere. After all, we're all human - not just a screenname...
Luska - Don't worry, Be happy.
If you feel your English is a problem (which I don't think it is) maybe say you feel it is, at the beginning of your post. People will understand.
Dow - I get your drift now - you were being sympathetic to Luska, but I have to say it did sound like kick a man when he's down. For that reason I became incensed and hit back with supercillious sarcasm on his behalf. Maybe an extra sentence by way of explanation would have sorted it.
Anyway let's all shake metaphorical hands and make up!
thank you everybody for such a nice support i dont worry any more and im happy
kolaz333:im practising, but it seems to me,that my fingers are getting shorter and shorter!the web site tip, what you gave me,was grate, but i still cant cover :( everytime is somewhere tiny gap and the sound is awfull.but i will not give up!
Just a wee point on this in defence of Luska- I can't always find a tune on "search" too easily as if there's an S on the end or a "the" in the title and I've not put it then it doesn't show. Too specific or not specific enough info means you don't always find a tune for a few tries at least and I'm not thick and English is my first language.
Wow! 'I could murder a pint' after reading that lot.
So about this last pint. The Lunasa tune book has two versions, one in Bb and one in Gmin. The one on this site is Gmaj. To my dull ears the Bb version sounds better than Gmin on the flute but Gmin is a bit easier to play on the mandolin. Any reason why this tune should come in three flavours?
the last pint - hornpipe
the last pint - hornpipe

Re: the last pint - hornpipe
This is ridiculous.
If you are looking for a tune, the first thing you should do is go to the tunes section and search for it:
http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display.php/223
I've made this very, very clear on the "submit a discussion" page where it says:
"If you are looking for a tune, please look in the Tunes section first. Please keep tune requests to an absolute minimum - they generally don't make for very interesting discussions. Genius thinking. Do go on.....

I may be very wrong, but was Domhniall not addressing Dow in his comment?
Apologies in advance if I'm mistaken.

Re: the last pint - hornpipe
If you leave off "the", the tune will still come up.
Searching for "bucks of oranmore" or even just "bucks" or "oranmore" will bring up "The Bucks Of Oranmore".
Searching for "the last pint", "last pint", "last" or "pint" will all bring up "The Last Pint".

I've spent many a dry evening searching for the last pint, but I've never had to bring it up!
Sorry...

Look in your book again -Bb and Gmajor are the two keys shown -I think you've had too many "Last Pints"!
