where do u all come from?

I would love to know where you are all from - presumably this is a worldwide website so I hope there will be some replies from far and wide.
I live on the Welsh borders, near Montgomery and would be very happy to hear of anyone else reading this who lives in my area. I play the fiddle for my own enjoyment but I am not up to session standard - yet!
I think this is a wonderful website.

I come from Radcliffe, near Manchester, but I haven't lived there since 1969. I've lived in the middle of nowhere a few miles from Bude in north Cornwall for over 20 years. It's wonderful, just wonderful (except when the Atlantic gales are removing my roof slates).

KMC is right that many folks list home locations in their bios, but sadly this is not so for everyone. Still, enough information is in the Members side of the site to start pulling together some statistics, flawed though they may be. It would be interesting (in a nerd sort of way) to query the data and summarize the stats for the edification and illumination of the Yellow Board membership. Simply a count of members from specific places. Pick a country and state (or province or county, etc.) and search.

I'd like to commission such a study by offering "Pint Points" to all comers. Submit your list through Yellow Board messaging, and I'll post the list when it's complete (probably sometime in this current decade). I'll reward you with a pint of your favorite at the local. Of course, the local has to be in the vicinity of Woodland, California. Stop by to claim your prize. One pint per list, must be of legal tippling age (21 yrs in CA), family members of highdesertbob need not apply.

The Midlands of England, but I've not lived there since the 1980s. Did 6 years in Hamburg, a couple in Wales, 7 in West Cork and now in Sydney.

So we will see if anyone takes me up on the Pint Points. I seriously don't want to do the work, but I'll gladly buy the drinks for someone who does.

BTW, I think I may need to throw in a disclaimer for repeat submissions: the Pint Point goes to first complete entry for a region. And yes, I get to decide what constitute's a valid region. I'd rather make the rules than do the work!

All in all, I'd really rather be playing (but that's another thread).

I live in what was until very recently a rural area of North Georgia, USA. It still mostly is, but the sprawl is creeping our way. Soon, the entire state of Georgia will be suburb and ex-urb to Atlanta.

Other activities - trying to make the place look respectable by day for tourists who zot in, see the Cathedral, and zot out again without spending any money. Some light academia.

Another way to answer the question...: from an 80's Rock shredder background, spent 5 or so yrs residing in the Classical and solo guitar world, currently dividing my time between the worlds of singing and learning jazz. Would love to spend more time in Trad but at the moment only have time to visit it on holiday. Maybe next yr.
