Just wondering what people here think of Slide? With the exception of the songs, I like their first two albums and am particularly impressed by the concertina player. I've just come in from their gig in Portlaoise and... More banal songs sung by a banal singer, and a band reduced, for the most part, to backing a fiddle-player bursting with showmanship and ego and not a trace of soul in his music.
I haven't heard a lot of Slide, but I have Aogan Lynch's (the concertina player) album with Michelle O'Brien which I really like except for the awful backing.

They are Brilliant!! Daire Bracken is a great Fiddler.

Have to agree with Dinn that Daire Bracken is a top class fiddler. In fact he was the original fiddle player with Danú.

the new album is fantastic!
i love the second track that they did. It sounds like breton music with an irish twist. Absolutely brilliant.
