Taffes pub, main street, Tigh codladh opposite that, Neachtan just down from that on cross street, that's a good corner, there's the Crane bar on sea road also. Shops, if for music, are useless, same old crap. Oh the Cottage bar on lower Salthill road can have good music with spanish/ french traditional music also.
The Crane is a must-see, in my opinion. Monroe's on Dominick St. a couple blocks from the Crane sometimes has good music too, and always good craic. For musical instrument shops, Powells (the Four Corners) on the main street is nice. Have fun! Pat
Is Mulligan's still open? They had a good selection of trad albums... And as for live music, Coilli's and The Crane are the best, but can get very touristy and crowded in Summer... If there's something happening at the Cottage it's good too. And if you can get out to Spiddal or Kinvarra there are some great sessions in both those places. Have fun!
Yeah, Mulligan“s is still open. they have open sessions there as well. Galway was great!! Loved the people there, so friendly, and so not like the people here... Heard a lot of music, and toured through the Burren and Connemara, so beautiful!!
We visited Coilli's and also searched for the Crane bar, but we never find it :P
Galway

Re: Galway
Kenny's bookshop and Art Gallery. That's the best place to kill time. http://www.kennys.ie
Just keep in mind many good sessions take place in the afternoon.

Kenny's has closed their shop - they operate online only these days.
