They look cramped without the huge stage to roam around. Is this the 'battery approach' to traditional music as opposed to the 'free range' variety that we saw in the other video?
Unfortunately two of the lads are still missing when Oisin and the band were on TG4 recently, the flute player and the box player were no where to be seen !
Anyone know if they are still en France?
Are they lost from the band forever?
Has a black hole swallowed then?
Who was/is the ‘new’ flute/guitar player?
"Unfortunately two of the lads are still missing" - but what about the bodhrán player bazouki_dave or are these musicians expendable? I've re-checked the clip at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLpfPEdWYQw and sure enough Tristan Rosenstock was there in France giving it plenty of stick! Also that last reel "Tie the Bonnet" that they played is a real cracker.
If anyone wants the dots for "Tie the Bonnet", I found it posted here at http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/136 (thanks cheshire puddy tat) under the alternative title "Upstairs in a Tent"
Thanks Slainte - lovely banjo and box duet and the tunes make a nice change from the reels and the jigs! However, maybe it's just me but although described as flings, I thought they sounded more like barn dances. Flings like Keel Row for example have a sort of bounce. I don't know if anyone else would have a view on this.

Irish Lad Found in Letterkenny
Yes he's here, one of the lads lost in France some weeks ago turns up in Letterkenny playing some great fiddle - see http://comhaltas.ie/music/detail/comhaltaslive_214_1_duet_with_louise_mulcahy_and_oisin_macdiarmada. His partner, Louise on flute, is also quite a musician too.

Re: Irish Lad Found in Letterkenny
Lovely--thanks for posting the link, Bannerman!
The two reels are Michael Dwyer's Favourite (http://thesession.org/tunes/display/1881) and one I know as Charlie Lennon's but called McDonagh's here (http://thesession.org/tunes/display.php/1963).
If anyone's interested, I've transcribed Oisin's playing of the first reel from the clip and added it to the comments for Michael Dwyer's Favourite.

Re: Irish Lad Found in Letterkenny
Yeah, I thought so. The second tune is definitely a barndance composed by Martin himself.

Re: Irish Lad Found in Letterkenny
The bodhran player and a banjo player made it onto TG4 as well as Oisin its just the box and flute player gone astray
