I'm thinking of relocating to northern New South Wales (just north of Nimbin) and was wondering if anyone knew of any musicians / sessions in the area. I currently play two to three sessions a week, so cutting down to zero could prove fatal.
For those of you unfamiliar with this part of Australia, Nimbin is famous for 'ferals' who live off the dole and smoke a lot of weed. Sounds like a fair number of ITM musos I know, but early investigations have only turned up one lead - a guy called 'Tree' who has 'Celtic influences'. It's not sounding promising....

I went to Nimbin once - it was WEIRD! Pretty much the only thing I remember about it was seeing a couple of drug addicts with mullets having a scrap outside the pub. I took a photograph of them in full battle.

There are a lot of players in this area, but no sessions that I know of. But then who'd tell a bodhran player where and when a session was on.
There used to be a monthly session in Lismore, but alas no more.
I am sure a session addict like yourself would be the kick start we need.
Contact me when you get here and I'll attempt to round up all the usual suspects, lotsa locals keep asking if I know of a sesh, so it should be easy.
Biggest problem is that it is thirty minutes to an hour travel for everyone so picking an ideal location is a sticking point.
