Who is YOUR all time favourite Irish Band?
Mine would have to be De Danann.They were unbeliveable.
My Fav line-up was Frankie Gavin,Mairtin O'Connor,Alec Finn and Johnny "Ringo" McDounogh.
But does dinn2 mean "Irish band" as in:
(a) a musical group/ ensemble that originate in "Ireland" and playing any musical genre at all
(b) an ensemble from anywhere that plays "Irish" music (however you define that!)
(c) group of musicians that don't neccessarily play "Irish" music of any sort nor are they of Irish ethnicity/ nationality per se but quite like to consider themselves Irish because their great-great-great-garandfather was called Murphy?
Mine would prob be dervish or the unwanted. great bands with such energy. brilliant to listen to. i have to admit the dropkick murphys are a bit of crac. you gotta love them

"Not that that Matters", that was the name, absolutely top class, great banjo player and out of this world bodhran player.
Mind you, I never actually saw them, but I have heard them.
