I try to record TG4 web Tv on my hard disk, but i think it's impossible !
I record tunes with my web cam or my I pod. Quality is not very good, but it is OK if you want to learn a tune with Audacity or Best Practice.
I was listening to the 2/20 Geantrai and wondered if anyone had the names of the tunes that the first group of musicians were playing. It was a set of polkas. I especially liked the 3rd tune in the set.
According to http://www.tg4.ie/Bearla/inte/geantrai/sea.htm
they are Brendan Begley, Cillian Ó Briáin & Bríd Donnelly playing polkas 'Joan Martin', 'Downey's', & 'Nellie'.
If you start from http://www.tg4.ie and choose:
1) English
2) PROGRAMME INFO
3) Geantrai
4) This week
... you get a description and tune list (often accurate, but not always) of the latest edition, and a bar for the descriptions of other weeks.
I don't know of any way of recording the video, but any audio recording software should be able to catch the sound track for you for tune-learning purposes. I've done it a number of times. It's probably even legal! (For the purposes of private study and research.)
I've heard that third one calle "Oh Nellie"
Hi Morphonymic Tootler,
Please excuse my technical ignorance here- could you explain how to use the software to record the sound track- is it possible using Windows Media (I also have I-Tunes and Quick Time)? Thank you.
(I don't want to record everything- just the odd tune to learn).
I don't know how it works in other browsers, but in Firefox if you right click on the program window it will let you slow down the recording. I just picked up Downey's and Nellie that way. But it's a pain because if you want to start over you get put all the way back to the weather report, commercials, ect. I changed the speed to fast to get through that and then back to slow when I got to the tunes.
