The First Annual NA Western Region The Session Session!
If you are interested in attending the first semi-official session of The Session in Helena, Montana in August 2003 (specific dates to be announced), please send an e-mail to zlee.geo@yahoo.com and give me the e-mail address you would like to receive e-mails with updates on this event.
You will be added to the YahooGroup for this event. Once that's happened, please use the Database function of the YahooGroup website to give us your information. You may also use the YahooGroup to post e-mails to the other members of The Session interested in the event.
Currently it sounds like we'll be going after the Butte Gaelic Festival (sounds likely Lunasa will be there teaching and performing), August 8-10th, dates to be decided. If you want to put in your two cents about what dates you'd like us to get together in Helena, now's the time to do it. Unfortunately, this will put us the same dates as the second week of the RMFC....

woo hoo! Even though I am already committed to the second week of Rocky Mountain Fiddle Camp, wouldn't mind arriving a day late or so just to make a few special acquaintances...
btw I live in Chinle AZ, near Canyon de Chelly on the Navajo Indian reservation, also near Monument Valley, about 3 hours from the Grand Canyon. If anyone wishes to combine their trip out West with any of these attractions, let me know -- I've got LOTS of sleeping space, plus several ITM musicians who would love some great craic! Being in the middle of nowhere, we crave new faces & tunes!! & we throw a mean potluck! (Unfortunately, most of us will already be at RMFC the second week, so perhaps try to squeeze us in on the front end of your tour...) Anyway, feel free to email me, or I'll just see you on the Yahoo group list.

I'm afraid so, Troy! It was the only way we could figure out how to do this easily and quickly (ie, without me having to do an entire database-driven thing myself, I don't have time right now)...if you want to avoid the spam, I'd open a new yahoo mail account just for that...Sorry about that...
It's a hassle, but it's free. As Zina said, open an account just for that, then forget that you have it. I set my browser to not open images automatically (easier with some browsers than others) and so i avoid most of the advertisement too.

Jeremy, we're trying to schedule this little get together around the Montana Gaelic Society's annual festival, which will be in Butte, Montana, this year, August 8-10. Music will mostly be Montana bands, but the organizers have all but sealed a contract with Lunasa to be the headliners and teach workshops. I will post it here if/when Lunasa commits to the Butte gig.
So the WNA session will be either right before or after August 8-10, 2003. Either way is okay with me. Helena is 70 miles (one hour) north of Butte, and prettier, and there's lots of yard and floor space available here for sleeping bags.
I'll also try to post info about places to stay/camp in Butte, and maybe we can commandeer somebody's backyard down there for that weekend.

LOL -- the thing is open to everyone who wants to come, Dow...even you. *grin* You may have to watch out, though...bb and I will both be there, and then you'll be in for it. ;)

When specific dates are decided, be sure to post that information here too.
Montana's a long way away but if I had enough advance notice I would try really, really hard to make it.
