Right - Boil the breakfast early won't print for me. I get the comments, the abc's, but no dots. I mean, I have got round it by copying the thing into navigator, but it's weird. Most tunes are fine. There *must* be a difference somehow in the way that tune is set out somehow. Judging by the blank reaction, maybe it's just my printer ...
Listen . . not all tunes are in a midi file formatt (the dots), in the session search . . some are just in ABC . . its all to do with the person who downloaded the tune to this site in the first place . . so there's nothing wrong with your computer.
Thanks Jeremy, but the download tab doesn't work on Boil the Breakfast either. Definitely weird, 'cos I've tried with loads of other tunes, and they work. I'm convinced it must be my technology. Ah well ... Anyway, I've found a 'work round' via navigator, so I can cope ...
Ben, I've tried what Jeremy suggested with this tune - 100% success. Which leads me to agree with you that there's something odd going on with your technology.
My hardware is a Windows XP (SP2) PC and a Lexmark Z515 inkjet printer running off a USB socket.
Jeremy may have a personal interest in this one because he submitted the tune in the first place!
My question is slightly different....why in my tunebook do some tunes seem to have a much smaller font than others? I'm short sighted and usually have NO problem with screens etc....but gosh .....a couple of tunes make me reach for the magnifying glasses!
You probably already know this, but here's what I do. I copy the ABC's to Concertina.net ABC Convert-A-Matic, hit the "submit" key and get the dots. Then you can convert it to pdf format and print it out.
i have same problem with some tunes, too. it prints me all the comments but not the music sheet. to print it i have to save it as an image and print it from the images file. that is my solution ( btw. my system is a window XP)
I open it in ABC Nav then cut & paste the abc to Word, space the lines, change the font, delete the dross, change the size, add other tunes to make a set - and that's about it really.

... errm ... that's it, really. Sometimes I like to compare versions I've heard or that I already play with those on this site.
But sometimes, the actual notes don't print. And I can't work out what's different about the tunes that won't print. 'Cos most of them print out fine.
Is it me?

I imagine you'll have made a mistake putting in the abc's, which is very easily done.

No. I mean ones already on the site here, in the tunes section. Some of them print, some of them don't ... ??
(I do know what you mean about mistakes in abc's - only just learned it myself - Saturday night, for a particular purpose ...)

If you want to print a tune, use the download tab to get the sheetmusic, then print that.

I always paste the ABC into Concertina then convert to dots - better quality output that way
