I heard the very sad, and unexpected news, that Les Daniels, father of Luke, husband of Sara, and a fine whistle player, died at the weekend after a short illness.
I started playing in sessions with him over twenty years ago at Paddy Coyne's pub, the Claddagh Ring, in Reading and remember well the day Les proudly introduced 12 year old Luke to the throng.
Those Reading sessions were always great fun; Les was a top bloke and will be greatly missed on the ITM scene.

That's very bad news Geoff, I knew he was sick, but didn't realise it was that serious. How awful for Luke and Sara.
Sad times indeed.
