Wintery Tunes

Wintery Tunes

Hey all,

I need to find some tunes that have a Christmas-y or wintery feel in the titlIe, & I know there's loads and loads of tunes out there that fit the bill so I thought I'd ask people to suggest their favourite few (in terms of tune or title - some tunes with funny titles would be cool....) so I can get some really good ones. Or even a set of 3 or 4 tunes with a wintery feel, should anyone get the urge....maybe even an arrangement for a 25 piece band...... :-/

Thanks

Andy

Re: Wintery Tunes

Does it have to be in the title?

Piper in the Meadow Straying = Deck the Halls in the b part. It's great! It's a set dance by the way..

Christmas Eve - Reel

Christmas in da morning - Jig I think?

Greensleeves - a jig version! It's in O'Neill's if ya have it.

Ahhhh, all I can think of rigth now! Hope that helped..

Cheers,
Armand

Re: Wintery Tunes

There is a gorgeous Irish carol I know, I can't even pretend to remember the gaelic name it came attached to, but the name translates to "That Night in Bethlehem." It is one of the most mournful aires I know, perfect to commemorate the birth of a homeless child in a shed in the back yard.
And the Wexford Carol comes to mind, although the accidentals make it a bit challenging for flutes and whistles--the Voice Squad did a beautiful harmony version a few years back.
