Seagull S6 with quantum electronics...

Seagull S6 with quantum electronics...

Should I buy a seagull S6 without the quantum 1 electronics,and put a takamine tri-ax on it,or a seagull S6 with the quantum 1?
Any experience?

You might get a more in-depth response from the resident experts at the Harmony Central guitar forum:

The Tri-Ax sounds fancy (ambitious?). Lotsa features, Takamine's big talk has me interested, anyhow. Have you played either setup?

I find Godin's Q1 electronics satisfactory but nothing outstanding.

Personal opinion, but in the past I've been too clumsy (or, well, impatient) to wrestle with checking feedback from a soundhole pickup (Takamine claims the Tri-Ax is "highly feedback resistant" ...hmmm).

I'd be generally concerned with "mixing" manufacturers and the issues that might arise re: matching impedances, if that's even an obstacle. Takemine claims it's appropriate for any guitar, but doubtlessly (at least in my mind) engineered it for a Takamine guitar's construction.

Which preamp does the Tri-Ax come with/which would you use? Or would you go pickup > direct box > PA?

Re: Seagull S6 with quantum electronics...

I bought a Seagull S6 Quantum Eq. and I really like it. It cost me about 250euro because the guitar was a bit damaged.
