So I've been told (or actually apparently dared haha) by a fellow user to start a discussion to see how many other people here are those classified as "young people"...just curious how many of us there are...ummm...so yeah (from my experience everyone in the trad music world is too young at heart for any of this to matter but again I was dared so yeah!)
Have fun!
Yeah, you took me up on it! I'm young!!! ooh, ooh, I'm gonna go to the NY Fleadh this year and go to some of the happening sessions in nyc, can't wait! any suggestions on the best ones?
my old mate Reg. Holmes of Flaxmere who first started me on the ITM trail has, at 93, not even started on his 2nd.childhood. Still playing, calling and dancing he is, I suppose , techically (sic) a "young people"---(whatever you wish to call it) and an example to all who are privileged to know him.
I'm going to be 19 in october, so I would consider myself to still be young.
But I am curious as to when most people here began playing ITM, I began only about a year and a half ago.
I think this is the reason whoever it was dared you to start this thread: http://www.thesession.org/discussions/display/10181
But I think everyone's still so worn out by that one that it's unlikely to happen again soon.
I count 18 as young! I've been playing fiddle for 11 years, I'm completely obsessed!!! I homeschool, so I'm lucky to have a lot of time to practice and so forth... I play some gigs, mostly dances and go to our lively session once a week.. fiddle camp never fails to inspire me, I'm gonna also try and make it up to the Upper Potomac Irish Music weekend in Oct this year~ get to play w/ some new people-so yeah, basicly I eat, sleep and practice the fiddle! sounds good to me!

Re: Techically "young people"
I'm older than some, but younger than most. I still get people that think I'm a teenager, though. Does that count? =)

Re: Techically "young people"
that's cool! I get people who think I'm in my 20's so whatever- I don't think age should matter, esp. in music.
