England in September

England in September

I will be in Charing Cross, London for work 16 - 25 September and of course will take my fiddle. Can anyone advise me of friendly sessions nearby during that week, or anywhere else at the weekends?

Also I will be free the weekends of 16/17 and 23/24 Sept and really keen to drive anywhere if there is a festival on that I can visit (in the UK).

Re: England in September

Try the Kilkenny session on a tuesday night, south of charing cross on the Northern line. It's a friendly, and good, session. Can get big tho. Look for more info here:

Re: England in September

Just look up listed London sessions, but check before you go - for instance the Magnet session, I have just been informed, is now homeless owning to a change of management, who apparently wanted Irish C'n'W instead !
Any suggestions for alternative venues received will be passed on, although I don't have a direct contact for the organiser.

Re: England in September

By all means feel welcome to join us at the Kilkenny Tavern on a Tuesday evening - more here:

Given your location, the Porterhouse session on Sunday in Covent Garden would be an obvious choice:

Tir na nOg on a Saturday evening is great fun, with the ever-hospitable Foxy presiding:

Hope that helps.
