Yes, I over heard some one saying that last week in a bar during a session. Apparantly a man named Tom Torriglia an accordionist of San Francisco came up with that! Or am I wrong?
And thanks for giving the synopsis instead of the whole speech!
They were making fun of International Accordion Awareness Month the other night on the public radio station, and people wrote in and protested, so they apologized last night for their "insensitivity." However, even as they apologized, they didn't sound very contrite. But they did play a pretty neat recorded version of the "All Things Considered" theme on a Cajun accordion, so that kind of made up for it.
As Rodney Dangerfield used to say "No respect, I get no respect!"
Oooooh, I'm a dunderhead! I misspelled Conán's last name. Sorry, Conán. I plead senility. Time to slink off to the rest home and wait for Bubba Ho-Tep.
*Tisk* Oldstrings, now you'll set off a round of accordian jokes. Which reminds me (stop me if you've heard this one): a man was driving to session with a brand new accordian sitting on the back seat of his car..........
June is also Carnival and Circus Month, National Adopt-A-Cat Month, National Cheeseburger Month, National Rose Month, and Papaya Month... and today is Donald Duck Day. Tomorrow (6/10) is National Yo-Yo Day, according to my internet source. Happy holidays!
Acutely! BTW, my wife took second place in the once rigged for first place SF accordion festival. That was the last time she performed there so perhaps it still is... rigged?
