So, I am wishing to purchase a new whistle and maybe even a new flute.
I am looking for a good music store within a 2-3 hour radius of me... I am in Rochester, NY (so I can go to syracuse, buffalo, toronto, binghamton, niagara, etc.)
The whistle players I know in Syracuse order whistles from online stores. There are loads of electric guitars for sale in Syracuse but no whistles more ambitious than Oaks.
Haaa... you are all very funny. I have 2 more weeks here and I'm ready to throw my whistle out my car window (you do know what I'm talkin' about). It's just not holding up well. Maybe I will just pick up a litlle walton or clark until I get to miltown. Then, gosh help me because I'm dyin to find the perfect one and I know that's a task!
if you're interested in buying on-line, check out www.custymusic.com Its based in Ennis. Co. Clare but they do a huge internet business. Check out their website anyway! Plenty of whistles and flutes there as well as everything else traditional.

Re: Irish Music Store
If you don't find a good flute in Miltown, you might try Seth Gallagher, the pipe-and-flute-maker in Cold Spring, NY.

Re: Irish Music Store
Michael Burke is the only person that I have found who will make a perfect whistle. I own several of his and I love them. A very sweet sound.
