I use Obligatos as well (and also Evah Parazzie's...I like them both) but never use either of their E strings. I just discovered a very good non-squeaky, non-whistling E string...it's a Kaplan "Special Solution"..it's wound... .It's got a warm sound, not too tinny or harsh. It 's only drawback is that it's expensive (about $9.00 I think) and supposedly doesn't last as long as a non-wound string....but it may be worth it, as it's a great-sounding string.
