I have an MK whistle. They are great whistles - very consistant in their quality although they do all differ slightly as they are hand made. You get a good amount of back pressure so they are fairly precise. They are great for playing fast tunes. I know some who don't like them much for slow airs, believing they are not as soft - if that is the right description - as others such as Chieftains.
They are quite loud whistles although the volume will drop if you dont keep the airway clean and dry. They are very responsive and you can switch octaves or play around "chordally" over the octaves without too much effort.
They are always in tune - which makes them automatically better than Chieftains.
I have never played Burke or Copeland low whistles but the reach is also better than a lot of Overtons. It is all a matter of personal preference. You should see if you can try one first.

MK Whistles
Hello,
anybody played an MK Whistle?
How good are they?
How loud?
How responsive?
Where do they fit with regards to Overton, Chieftain, Burke, & Copeland low whistles, all of which I've tried?
Any comments much appreciated

Re: MK Whistles
The mouthpiece looks kinda funky. I am wondering if it is comfortable.
