The Worcester Hibernian Cultural Centre will be hosting a concert on Friday, June 2, 2006 at 8 pm featuring Foxford, County Mayo musicians David, Patrick and Kevin Doocey. The brothers, ages 19, 16 and 13 respectively have won awards in their age categories as individuals and as members of groups on the county, provincial and national level in Ireland. David who is currently a student at NUI Galway won the All-Ireland fiddle title in Letterkenny last summer in the 15-18 age category. From a Central Massachusetts perspective, what sets this concert apart from the others that have been held here is that it is a homecoming of sorts as the three brothers were born in Worcester and lived here until moving to Foxford with their parents in 1998. The concert admission is $15. The Hibernian Cultural Centre is located at 19 Temple Street in Worcester, MA. Information can be obtained at (508) 792-3700.
Sounds like a great night. It's nice to bring the kids out to play. It's too far for me, but good luck with it. Have you got any local Irish radio programs? If they announce it that can help bring people out.
